Sant Vicenç de Castellet and its influence area in the South of the Bages County is a geological area rich in quartz, limestone and sandstone. Natural stone is extracted in an industrial way since the last century. This long tradition has turned Bages Sud into an expert land, with a wide knowledge of the materials and the extracting and transformation techniques among its industry owners and workers. The "Sant Vicenç" stone is the most characteristic material extracted in this zone. It's a valuable limestone that takes its name from the main town in Bages Sud: Sant Vicenç de Castellet. The other towns are: Castellbell i el Vilar, Castellgalí, Monistrol de Montserrat and el Pont de Vilomara i Rocafort.
